Design for Learning
A selection of digital assets used for online learning including gamification. elearning, instructional design, animation and, educational video.
This is a mixed collection of work created for online learning/elearning purposes. Here you will find animation, video, blogs, VLE content, gamification concepts, design for print and training presentations.
[ONLINE COURSE DESIGN]
As a senior instructional designer, I have worked on numerous online courses which are hosted on VLEs. Subject matters include, Business Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Marketing among others.
These projects required liaison with Subject Matter Experts who could provide raw content which I would then adapt to fit the online platform and needs of the learner. Using a VLE in this context allowed the inclusion of interactive documents, video content, chat rooms, webinars and access to library materials. Look at the example here.
[ANIMATION & VIDEO PRODUCTION]
This is a collection of projects and assets I have created as an online learning designer. Much of this work incorporates multi-media design along-side eLearning development and instructional design to enhance learner engagement.
During my time as an instructional/digital designer I have created video content implementing green screen technology, animated components and additional audio elements.
These video examples were both created for Durham University's first MOOC (massive online open course) which launched in 2016 on the Futurelearn platform.
[GAMIFICATION]
This concept was created for development on Articulate Storyline. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about gamification in an engaging and game-oriented way.
This gamification design was created as an ice-breaker for new students at Durham University Business school. The concept was developed for use on the Blackboard VLE.
[PRESENTATIONS]
The presented technologies could be relevant to online teaching or face-to-face learning in a lecture theatre scenario. I covered topics including students blogs, ePortfolios, online polling and, advanced Power-Point presentation design to internal and adjunct faculty member.
These presentations were created for academics at Durham University for events such as specialist workshops and seminars. Aside developing online courses, my role was to assist in up-skilling academics to be more confident when using digital learning technologies.
[EDUCATIONAL DESIGN FOR PRINT & WEB]
The graphic design and illustrative work I have created for educational purposes has incorporated university branding including corporate colour palette, logos and full use of branding guidelines.
