Featured Project
This project was commissioned by jazz musician and composer Sam Qureshi (Sam Q’s Nightpatrol). Sam had signed a deal with Hoxton Publishing which required him to set up a label and a web presence. The project included branding design, web site design and online/printed promotional materials.
[LOGO DESIGN]
The concept for the logo is derived from analogue music cassette tapes which also gave future scope for an animated version of the logo (featured on the teaser video intro). Although the style is contemporary, it was important to have some vintage aspect within the design.
[WEB BANNERS]
Using the carousel image block functionality on Squarespace, I was able to create web banners which could be hyperlinked to internal or external content. These banners will gradually be replaced over time as new content is put onto the site.
[TEASER VIDEO]
This teaser video was created for the launch of Sam’s latest EP to generate early hype. The individual assets were created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop then the animation was completed in Adobe Premiere along with the sequencing of audio clips. See the final cut here.
[WEBSITE DESIGN]
The site was built with Squarespace as it can be easily edited, has good SEO functionality and can adapt to different devices such as mobile phones and tablets.
A great deal of time went into hooking up social media accounts to the site, some of which required an overhaul or re-branding to ensure consistency. As video content is especially important, I created a new Youtube channel to feature of Sam’s existing video content on.
I was able to build the site in time for Sam’s visit to MIDEM in France where he used the newly branded business cards to promote his music which attracted a number of big labels to the new website.
